BMS & EMS Architecture

Battery management and energy management system design — control logic, cell modelling, supervisory software, and CAN network architecture. Experience in marine, BESS, and industrial applications.

High-Voltage DC Systems

DC power distribution architecture, component sizing, and protection analysis for BESS and electrified platforms. Practical experience up to 800 VDC in production, system-level knowledge to 1500 VDC.

Control Systems & Embedded

Embedded control design, model-based development in MATLAB / Simulink, and CAN-based network architecture (CANopen, J1939, NMEA 2000). Plant modelling for real-time simulation and HIL testing.

About Bracka Engineering

Bracka Engineering is a specialist one-person consultancy. The work is hands-on and technical — control architecture, software development, test rigs, and field commissioning — not just advice and documentation.

My background is in battery management systems, high-voltage DC electrification, and embedded control, built through delivering production hardware and software at Artemis Technologies — including 103 kWh marinised lithium-ion battery packs and an 800 VDC power distribution architecture for first-of-type fully electric commercial hydro-foiling vessels.
